Bush Bashing

Taking the rough way around on a sunny weekend

It's increasingly become difficult to get a spare moment to just chill out, let along go out and go for a walk on the wild side. Not far out of Melbourne CBD is Jells Park. It's huge!

Not-so-hidden away in the Dandenong Creek Valley, you get to take a step away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Fun fact: Over 900,000 people visit the park each year. With over 9kms of paths and 127 hectares of open space, it's hard to figure out why more people don't visit! Melbourne's population is just over 4 million. That means 22.5% of the population have gotten to the park in some stage of the year. Holy moly!

Anyways, enough with the touristy facts. I'm not a person who generally hikes nature often so you won't see me decked out in proper gear. It's usually just a comfy pair of jeans or chinos, a loose-fit tee and sneakers! Exactly like today!
