New York Cool To beat the summer heat
A Yankee in Melbourne
Words by Billy George
Melbourne has been a sweltering mess lately, and one way to keep it cool is to dress like a yank. Well, like a Yankee I should say! I picked up the jersey many years back on a trip to New York that, to this day, I still haven't forgotten. It was a trip of a lifetime in the big apple; the bright lights of Times Square, the brisk walks through The Mall of Central Park where I'd sit for hours watching the world pass by. Ugh, I really got to get back - it's been six years since that trip. I bet a lot has changed.
Jersey's can generally be difficult to wear if you don't get it right. Think minimal. Jerseys and sports wear can be quite 'extravagent' to say the least, so keeping the rest of the outfit simple is the best way to do it. A pair of light wash and aged denim, a white tee underneath, a hat and some sneakers. You're set!
