The Curiously Careful Curation of Salvatore Ferragamo
Words by Billy George
Ten years after joining the Salvatore Ferragamo Group as a knitwear designer in the men’s department, Massimiliano Giornetti has really brought forward some very crisp pieces for our perusal.
Let me start with the patterns. Though not heavily feature as a staple element to the collection, the patterns add such life and diversity. The very 80′s reminiscent ‘art-deco’ is ringing true. Next is the clean and crisp silhouette of each and every outfit, put together with such precision, it has me tingling. The pants are slightly raised beyond the norm, pushing above the ankle in which a lot of street style trends in suiting have been seen. The colours are neutral, their is nothing bold yet brought together, each outfit is a model of perfection.
Attention to detail is strength and Ferragamo got it right this year. I mean, if you look at the collection closely, the matching bandana’s scarfed around the models necks, short ties that match the shirts and the subtle coloured highlights in footwear really do favours.
