Milan, the capital of Italian style, is smashing through a heat wave as the shows don’t delay (too much) from the scorching temperatures. But that didn’t stop the gents from dressing up and showing the world that the Italians really are the best dressed men of the world.
Doce & Gabbana, Versace, Marni… they all brought the heat (pun intended) where the fashion shows brought editors, models and buyers into the one space where Hawaiian shirts and tank tops ruled the styling choices. Cool. Laid back.
Industry personalities are fast becoming a thing at fashion week, especially with Men’s fashion. Why? Well, think of it this way - it’s the first shows of fashion months and the big fashion houses, the middle ground labels, and even the smaller designers, all come together to show us the trends of the season. I’m not just talking for men. The idea that you can see what the overall theme of these fashion houses bring, before the main events, is huge.
Lets face it, while menswear is on the rise, the spotlight will always be on women’s fashion week around the world. But it’s the mens shows that brings us the eye-catching street style and trends that we can expect, each and every season.
I’ve collated a look into some of my favourite looks this season, straight from the streets of Milan. Flick through and enjoy.
