Prague Fashion Week SS18

The Fashion Elite of the Czech Republic

Words by Billy George

I'm not going to lie to you, Prague super surprised me. But then again it shouldn't. The capital of fashion in the Czech Republic has been growing prominence over the last couple of years and has steadily proved to be a very fashion savvy yet true to the traditional classics of menswear and street style.

Prague doesn't get the top spot of fashion month compared to its counterparts in Paris, Milan, London and so forth, but MBPFW was a success this season showing the cool hits of Spring Summer 2018. The fan fare and parade on the streets really got your blood going. The most toned down yet fashion forward looks are definitely coming out, and honestly I'm kind of glad! As the years go on, the other European based fashion weeks are starting to become such a spectacle that it's not really got anything to do with fashion anymore, instead just getting photographed by someone on the streets to appear in Vogue. Prague seems to be a lot more simple, relaxed and of course, less showy.

The trend still seems to be in the dark navy in a slim silhouette, with a mix of colour added here and there along with some accessories. But honestly - nothing super over the top. It's much more versatile in the transition of the season it seems compared to others and I for one am glad! Leather jackets seem to still be a sample (Yes to this!) and sneakers featuring instead of dress up shoes is continuing strong but not over done. Anyways - peep my favourite shots above.
